Price: a tie at $100, a gap on shipping
Both brands start their carbon paddles at about $100: the CPX Air at $99.97 and the Vatic Pro PRISM or Saga at $99.99. The difference shows up at checkout. CPX ships free on US orders over $30, so a single paddle ships free. Vatic Pro’s free shipping starts at $150, so a single $99.99 paddle pays shipping calculated at checkout.
Buying risk: where CPX pulls ahead
This is the biggest difference between the two brands, and it matters most if you’re buying your first carbon paddle.
- Time to decide. CPX gives you 90 days. Vatic Pro gives you 30 days from delivery.
- Playing before you return. CPX accepts used paddles back for a full refund with no restocking fee. Vatic Pro asks for new, unused items in original packaging, charges 20% on items that aren’t resalable, and may refuse paddles it judges unacceptable.
- Accidents. CPX sells a lifetime warranty for $29.97 per paddle that covers wear, damage and accidents, and it’s included with Hyper+ pre-orders. Vatic Pro lists a 1-year warranty.
Example: you play with a paddle for three weeks and decide it isn’t for you. With CPX you can send it back for a refund, minus your return shipping. With Vatic Pro, a used paddle no longer meets the new-and-unused rule, so expect the 20% fee or a refusal.
Paddle options: where Vatic Pro has more choice
Vatic Pro offers each paddle in several shapes (Flash, V7 and Bloom), two handle lengths, and left-handed versions. If you already know you want a long handle or a specific shape, that flexibility is useful. CPX keeps one shape per model and spreads its choices across core thickness instead, from the 14mm Max to the 19mm Pro.
Both brands also sell a foam-core paddle. Vatic Pro’s V-Sol Pro costs $109.99. CPX’s Hyper+ starts at $150 as a pre-order and includes the lifetime warranty and a leather case on most editions, according to CPX.

- Want accident coverage: CPX, with the optional lifetime warranty.
- You know your shape and handle length, or you need a left-handed paddle: Vatic Pro is worth considering.
